Location: Joliet, Illinois, United States

Now semi-retired, I served for 20 years as Catechetical Associate in the Religious Education Office, Diocese of Joliet in Illinois, where my work supported Directors of Religious Education and Adult Faith Formation, as well as curriculum and special needs catechesis. I have a particular specialty in Liturgical Catechesis and maintain a curated web page, The Liturgical Catechist - at http://theliturgicalcatechist.weebly.com/ I am author of "From Mass to Mission for Children" published by Liturgy Training Publications. Contributions include a chapter to "A Liturgical Companion to the Documents of the Second Vatican Council" and sections of the 2019 "Sourcebook for Sundays and Seasons" also published by LTP and the "Gentle Jesus" First Eucharist program for Liguori Press, published in 2021. I have also been part of the team for Loyola Press' "Catechist's Journey" blog. I earned my BA and MA in English from the University of Illinois and later, a Masters in Pastoral Studies, with emphasis in Liturgy, from Loyola Institute of Ministry, New Orleans. I have also served as a parish director of religious education and liturgy. On a personal note, I joined the Catholic Church in 1987 through the RCIA. I belong to a mostly Hispanic Franciscan inner-city parish, for which I volunteer in music, catechesis of children and adults, RCIA and liturgical planning.
