In 2011, Sarah earned her degree from the University of Guelph in International Development Studies with a focus on political economy and social change. Since then she has worked within the non-profit and social enterprise space both abroad and within Canada. Sarah began working for the Diocese of Hamilton in 2015 to revive the Office of Justice and Peace. The role has allowed her to work closely with parishes, schools, organisations and community groups to address key issues such as social assistance reform, climate change, poverty reduction, labour exploitation, truth and reconciliation and responsible giving practices. In 2020, Sarah returned to the University of Guelph to begin her graduate studies in Capacity Building and Extension on a part-time basis while maintaining her role at the Diocese. Sarah currently sits on the Social Affairs Commission for the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario as well as the Collaborative Network to End Exploitation.
