William Becerra., M.A. Theo Studies. I was born in Colombia, former perpetually-professed religious missionary brother with the Missionaries of St. Charles Ė Scalabrinians , I hold a Baccalaureate in Philosophy from Universidad de San Buenaventura, BogotŠ, Colombia; a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology (S.T.B.) from Loyola School of Theology, Quezon City, the Philippines and a Master of Arts, Major in Theological Studies, from Ateneo de Manila University, in The Philippines. Currently I am a student in the Ecumenical Doctorate of Ministry Program, concentration on Hispanic Theology and Ministry at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Most of my ministerial life has been concentrated in the field of pastoral care of migrantís ministry. Not long ago I was the Education Coordinator for the Office for Immigrant Affairs and Immigration Education of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Previously I served as Assistant Director and Legal Representative of Casa del Migrante en Tijuana A.C. in Tijuana, Mexico. I was also Prefect of Discipline and Resource Person in the Scalabrini Philosophy Seminary, Manila, The Philippines; Assistant Director of Scalabrini Center for People on the Move; Prefect of Discipline and teacher at the Philosophy Seminary, in Maumerre, Indonesia. I also worked with seafarers in Taiwan and Hispanics in Australia. I recently joined the Office for Hispanic Ministry of the Diocese of Joliet in Illinois. Iíve concentrated my ministry on leadership development; I am passionate about educating Hispanic leaders for better integration in the U.S. I am a fervent proponent of integration between faith and active leadership in formation programs. Iím energized by new ideas, creative solutions, potential, Catholic social teaching, faith, and cool technologies.
