Bryan was one of six children who grew up on a farm in central Illinois during the 1960s and 70s. His faith was deeply influenced by his father, the late Carl Reising, and his grandmother, the late Elisa Villiger Reising. After attending St. Francis High School Seminary in Cincinnati to discern his vocation, Bryan earned a bachelor's degree in Religious Education from Quincy University in 1983. He then spent the 1980s working as a parish catechetical leader and youth minister. In 1988, Bryan married Linda Harper, and together they raised three children and now have three grandchildren. After their marriage, he continued his education, earning a master's degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and Loyola University Chicago in 1990. He and his wife then focused on evangelization efforts at the parish level in Mexico City and Rockford, Illinois. Bryan's career in church leadership continued as he served as the Director for Evangelization for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston for 12 years, beginning in 1994. For nearly 11 years, he was the Director of Religious Education and Adult Faith Formation for the Diocese of New Ulm in Minnesota. Since 2017, Bryan has been the Director of Evangelization and Catechesis for the Diocese of Beaumont.
