My name is Kitty Scanlan and I currently serve as the Coordinator for Lay Ministry Formation in the Diocese of Scranton (located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, near the Pocono Mountains). In this role I oversee a local Diocesan Certificate in Lay Ministry program; I also collaborate with area parishes that are engaging in small faith-sharing communities, and work closely with other members of our Office for Parish Life team to provide diverse opportunities for ministerial enrichment. I received my Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry from “UD” where I served as the Graduate Assistant for the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives from 2013-2015. As Graduate Assistant, I coordinated the FORUM for Young Catechetical Leaders, a 2-year catechetical training program for undergraduate students. I focused my Master’s practicum on bringing the online resources of the VLCFF together with FORUM program on campus—it was during this process that I got my feet wet facilitating my first VLCFF class... When I am not working, I enjoy cooking, singing, looking up movie trivia, and spending time with my family (I am one of 4 sisters, am an aunt to a growing brood of energetic nephews and nieces, and I have wonderful parents!). I am also recently married to my husband, John Paul, and am growing into my new vocation as ‘wife.’ It's an exciting life!
