Hello from New England. I am glad to be part of the VLCFF community; I truly believe in life-long learning. In addition to a masters degree in religion from Columbia University, I have taken graduate courses in Pastoral Theology at Heythrop College (a Jesuit college with lots of Rahner!)in London. Since we have moved to Maine I have been active in the Church in a variety of ways. Until recently, I taught freshmen and junior Theology classes at Cheverus High School in Portland(also Jesuit). The freshman class is a broad introduction to Christianity and Catholicism while the junior year is a full-year course on scripture. I am certified as a Parish Catechetical Leader and was responsible for Sacramental Preparation in the Biddeford, ME parishes for 3 years, giving workshops to the parents. I have also taught the diocesan course on History of Catechesis to catechetical leaders in the Portland Diocese who were studying for the certificate. I have coordinated RCIA at my own parish for several years and occasionally offer adult ed programs. My original career was spent as an institutional investor and portfolio manager in New York and London, and I am at present a PhD student at MIT studying economic sociology. My husband is French and we have spent many summers with my daughter (now grown) in France....but right now most of my time is spent shuttling between Maine and Massachusetts!
